Connecting Biology

So what's going on here?

This blog is my own personal effort to provide students of mine (or anyone else interested) what I hope is an interesting guided tour of Biology. The plan is to start really BIG PICTURE and work my way through various idea threads to eventually touch on as much as I can. Rather than bombarding students with tons of facts, I'm a believer in getting them interested in the big ideas first. I'll attempt to do that here.

I will also be regularly putting up concept maps that will link together to show how these various ideas are connected (thus the blog title). You can either just view them individually here, or if you want to collect and navigate them all connected, you can use the free CmapTools software available here.
